Ponder Enterprises, Inc. is a family owned and operated business. Ponder Enterprises has provided affordable housing options to the Denton, Ponder, Justin, Alliance Airport and North Texas areas since its inception in 1976. Today, Ponder Enterprises is run by William (Bill) Merritt. Ponder Enterprises is involved in a host of business endeavors, including management of over 150 commercial and residential accounts, TCEQ certified water systems, laundry facilities, and storage facilities. Ponder Enterprises is also a sister corporation to Double Rock, Inc., a licensed retail, broker and installer of manufactured homes and Modena Acquisitions, Inc. a land development company specializing in planned communities for site-built homes.

Ponder Enterprises is a full service provider for residential housing needs. We have numerous residential lots available for our customers to select from and can build you a brand new custom home or customize a new manufactured home for you. Whatever your housing needs are…..we can satisfy them!

Ponder Enterprises offers financing through various lenders and, in some instances, will provide owner financing for qualified buyers. We also offer affordable lease purchase options to qualified tenants on our rental properties. Because Ponder Enterprises is a family owned business, we are able to offer many flexible options for all of our customers' needs.

Family Owned

E. Mitchell Merritt started Ponder Enterprises with the purchase of a single rent house, and three decades later, although partially retired, is still active in the company. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated from the University of North Texas with a BBA in finance. Mr. Merritt holds a Class C water license from the State of Texas and a General Lines Insurance license from the State of Texas. Mr. Merritt successfully developed multiple communities over the span of his real estate career. Today, those communities are home to over 1,000 people in the North Texas area. Mitch has been happily married to his wife, Ann, since 1970.

Bill Merritt attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in 1996 with a BBA in finance. Bill then attended Southern Methodist University School of Law and graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor in 1999. Before joining the family business in 2004, Bill practiced transactional law at the law firm of Jones Day in Dallas. Bill served as the Mayor of DISH, Texas from May of 2005 through May 2007. In addition to being an attorney, Bill holds a Class C Water Operator's License from the State of Texas and a Residential Mortgage Loan Originator License (NMLS No. 350238). He now focuses his professional efforts on the continued growth and expansion of the family businesses. Those endeavors now include real estate development, residential and commercial leasing, custom home building, asset management and various types of financial services through his mortgage company, Maranello Mortgage Services, Inc. (NMLS No. 358303). Bill has been happily married to his wife, Amy, since 1999 and has one daughter and one son.
